Palimpsest

A palimpsest is a “piece of writing material on which the original writing has been effaced to make room for later writing but of which traces remain”.  When the former is erased to make way, the later continues to bear “visible traces of its earlier form”.  In this way, the various works for this show will layer on top of each other in gesture and meaning through duration, memory, and accumulation.   

 

This show/residency will consist of ten performance/installation actions between September 7 – November 9, 2020 in various locations on the North Park University campus.  The dates and location for each work will be posted each week on the show’s Instagram page:
