Inhale: is hair dead or alive?

various works,  2018

pine, cobwebs, eggshell, paint, cube, water, graphite, human hair, bowl, human spit, brick, glass, dresser, pine needles, nylon, polyester stuffing, sound

From the ceiling, a slow drip of water falls into the open eggshell.

Each step causes the pine-covered floor to crunch,

as a pattern of pattering begins to form.

The haiku-style poems, hidden in writing on the walls,

are spoken aloud into the space.

The ball, a sphere of frozen human spit, slowly begins to thaw.
