milkweed, fish tank, hollowed eggs, figure

Figure approaches hollowed out eggshells that are arranged in an oblong circle on the painted black ground in a small room.  Figure walks around the backside of the installation to face the viewers. Figure, with bare feet and dressed all in black, steps onto the hollowed eggshells—one foot at a time. Pop, pop, crack, crack.  Figure, after pausing, kneels onto the eggshells. Pop, pop, crack, crack. After pausing, figure sits onto the eggshells. Pop, pop, crack, crack. After pausing, figure lays, in fetal position, on the eggshells.  Pop, pop, crack, crack. Figure remains there, in this final position, breathing, silent, with eyes closed.

Figure leaves smaller room, walks through larger room to approach a glass vessel filled with milkweed fluffs.  Figure walks around the backside of the glass vessel to face the viewers. Figure picks up the upright vessel and begins to tip it towards to viewers.  The vessel is tipped until it is turned upside down. All of its milkweed contents pour out from the vessel onto the black painted floor and around figure’s ankles.  Figure, with bare feet and dressed in all black, steps onto the milkweed—one foot at a time. After pausing, figure kneels onto the milkweed. After pausing, figure sits on the milkweed.  After pausing, figure lays, in fetal position, on the milkweed. Figure remains there, in this final position, breathing, silent, with eyes closed.
