milkweed, fish tank, hollowed eggs, figure
Figure approaches hollowed out eggshells that are arranged in an oblong circle on the painted black ground in a small room. Figure walks around the backside of the installation to face the viewers. Figure, with bare feet and dressed all in black, steps onto the hollowed eggshells—one foot at a time. Pop, pop, crack, crack. Figure, after pausing, kneels onto the eggshells. Pop, pop, crack, crack. After pausing, figure sits onto the eggshells. Pop, pop, crack, crack. After pausing, figure lays, in fetal position, on the eggshells. Pop, pop, crack, crack. Figure remains there, in this final position, breathing, silent, with eyes closed.
